Our Approach
How we think about impact, and how we work.
"Impact" is a word that's been diluted by overuse in this sector. RS Strategies is bringing it back to what it actually means. From time on the funder side, the reporting requirement was almost always numbers served — outputs — even when the rhetoric was "impact." Outputs tell you what happened. Impact tells you why it mattered. RS Strategies works with both nonprofits and funders to close that gap.
Outputs tell you what happened. Impact tells you why it mattered.
Whether we're working with a nonprofit or a funder, the approach looks the same: sit down together, understand where you are and where you're trying to go, then build the systems and strategy to get you there.
For nonprofits, that often means an ongoing partnership as you grow. For funders, it means building the structure, handing it off, and stepping back — the work is designed to outlast the engagement, not depend on it.
People
The mission matters most, and people are the mission, always. Whether you serve, give, or receive, you're kept at the center of the work, never an afterthought to the process.
Partnership
True impact is never achieved alone. We work alongside you, not above or below you — side by side on strategies for impact, sharing resources and making connections toward meaningful partnerships.
Integrity
The community is counting on us to get it right. How we do the work matters as much as why we do it.
Transparency
Transparency breeds trust. Trust builds relationships. Relationships get results. We're committed to work that is honest and transparent, start to finish.
Authenticity
We show up as we are, and we ask the same of the people we work with. Real strategy requires real conversations — about what's working, what isn't, and what the mission actually needs.
Belief
It's what carries change makers through the hard parts. With it, there's no problem too big to solve, no mountain too steep to climb.
Sustainability
We build to last — not just for where you are now, but for where you're headed.
